Facilities
CAMaR's infrastructure includes new laboratory space in the Advanced Research Complex at uOttawa, that benefitted from a $16.4M grant from the Canada Foundation for Innovation for the project “Advanced Materials: From Designer Molecules to Transformative Devices”, led by Tito Scaiano.
Cary 60 Fiber Optic Coupler
It measures absorbance and transmission from 190 nm to 1100 nm using the Cary 60 fiber optic coupler accessory. It allows for measurements up to 3 m away; ideal for remote UV-VIS analysis.
These remote measurements are useful in situations such as when sterile conditions need to be maintained, high temperatures or pressures are present, radiation or poisons prevent direct handling, when measurements are taken inside a glove box, or when monitoring a reaction in a process bath.
Cary 60 (UV-VIS)
The Cary 60 UV-Vis spectrophotometer has a wavelength range of 190–1100 nm that can be scanned in under three seconds. Our flexible UV-Vis spectrometer can be fitted with long pathlength cuvettes and solid sample transmission or reflectance accessories.
